For each scenario below, choose the most appropriate answer from the list above. Each option may be used once, more than once or not at all.
1. A 16 year old girl presents to her GP with a 2 year history of swelling in her left ring finger. The swelling is painless, and the finger looks larger than the rest.
2. A 3 year old child with a known chondroblastoma in the right femur presents with a new painful swelling in the same leg that’s hot to the touch. Ultrasound scan reveals cystic cavities.
3. An xray of the tibia of a 10 year old boy presenting with a painful swelling of his right shin, reveals a lytic lesion with a periosteal ’onion skin’ reaction. Immunophenotyping shows the tumour to be CD99 positive with a chromosomal translocation of t(22;11).
4. A 2 year old girl is brought back to the A&E department with yet another fracture, this time of the left proximal humerus. An FY1 notices the child has blue sclera.
5. A 23 year old medical student presents to his GP with dull pain in his left knee which is tender to the touch, worse at night and relieved by aspirin.
